Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre

The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre offers higher education across an array of music and theatre disciplines, at the  Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels.

Bachelor’s degree programmes offer training in areas such as vocal and instrumental performance, conducting, composition, musicology, music education and recording arts. Additional specialisations are available in the Master’s programmes in chamber music performance, accompaniment, contemporary improvisation, and cultural management. The theatre department provides comprehensive training for actors, directors and playwrights in both the classical and modern theatre practices. It also offers a Master's programme in contemporary physical performance making, an advanced course designed for professional performers and theatre makers across disciplines. EAMT also runs joint Master's programmes in music pedagogy  and cultural management with Tallinn University and the Estonian Business School, respectively, as well as a two-year international joint program in contemporary performance and composition, offering students an open platform for experimental artistic practice. EAMT’s doctoral programme is divided between Musicology and Artistic Research in the fields of music and theatre.

EAMT has its operations spread across two key locations. Its main, modern campus in the city centre features a concert hall renowned for its excellent acoustics, a flexible black box theatre, a multimedia centre, and various cutting-edge technology facilities. Meanwhile, the Theatre Department is situated in the heart of Tallinn's historic Old Town, an area of significant historical importance
